Résumé: لقد جاء القرن الخامس الهجري محمَّلا بثقل الدرس الإعجازي، التي ملأ الدنيا وشغل الناس آنذاك، فذهب العلماء في ذلك مذاهب شتى، اختلط فيها الإعجاز القرآني بالدراسات البلاغية والبيانية، الأمر الذي نشأت عنه مجموعة من الأفكار والتصورات، ولعلَّ عبد القاهر الجرجاني في تلك المرحلة وما بعدها يعدُّ الشخصية العلمية الأبرز التي استطاعت أن تفك الصراع والخلاف المستشري بين المهتمين بمثل هذه الدراسات من شتى المذاهب الكلامية، وبخاصة الأشاعرة والمعتزلة، فكانت نظرية النظم بزخمها البياني والنحوي والإعجازي اللبنة الأخيرة والمميزة، التي استطاع من خلالها صاحبها فك النزاع في قضية اللفظ والمعنى ورسم معالم الإعجاز القرآني من خلال كتابيه : " أسرار البلاغة " و" دلائل الإعجاز" .
