Résumé: ملخص: عرفت بلاد المغرب عدة ثورات خلال القرن الهجري الثاني الموافق للثامن ميلادي، اكتست هذه الثورات الشكل الاجتماعي تارة والديني تارة أخرى، فمن جهة تزامن قيامها مع ظروف سياسية طبعها التنافس بين القبيلتين العربيتين القيسية واليمنية، وظروف اقتصادية واجتماعية تمثلت في الضغط على البربر بالمبالغة في الضرائب، وفرض الجزية والخراج (على الأراضي المفتوحة عنوةً أو صلحاً)، بالإضافة الى أسباب عسكرية وأمنية تمثلت في التباين في تكليف العرب والبربر بمهام عسكرية متباينة الخطورة، وقد بلغت التجاوزات إلى ارسال البنات البربريات الحرائر هدايا الى الأمراء الأمويين بدمشق. أمام هذه الظروف المتباينة بين جور الولاة، وتذمر البربر ظهرت حركات الخوارج ببلاد المغرب لتغتنم الفرصة للدعوة السرية بتأليب السكان على الولاة ومحاولة بث الأفكار الخارجية، عن طريق التغلغل بعض دعاتها بممارسة مهن بسيطة قريبة من العامة، زيادة على التخلي عن بعض المبادئ منها زواج الخوارج ممن يخالفهم في المذهب. Abstract: Several revolts occurred in the Maghrib in the 2nd/8th century. These appeared in the guise of social or religious movements. They occurred during the period which saw rivalry between the Arab Qaysī and Yamanī factions. Also during at this time, the Berbers were subjected to heavy taxation, including collection of the jizya and kharāj on lands that were conquered forcibly or by treaty. There was also a lack of equity in the imposition of military duties on the Arabs and Berbers and free Berber women were sent as concubines to the Umayyad rulers in Damascus. Amid the oppression of the Umayyad governors the Khārijite movements arose in the Maghrib exploiting the opportunity to spread their ideology and incite the population against the government. They achieved this by sending their propagandists into the general population under the guise of working in common professions while also abandoning some of their more restrictive rules such as the ban on marriage with people from other sects.
