Résumé: الأسطورة في الشعر العربي في الغالب كانت هروبا من الواقع إلى المتخيل فقد وجد فيها الشاعر العربي ملاذه الأمن وانتصاره على خيباتة وهزائمه المتكررة فراح يتقنع وراء الرموز الأسطورية ويتكلم بها ويستنطقها وذلك في أجمل صورة ممكنة، وقد شكل الرمز الأسطوري مساحة كبيرة في شعر أمل دنقل. وكان رمز زرقاء اليمامة واحدة من بين أبرز تلك الرموز والشخصيات التاريخية التي لجأ إليها الشاعر ووجد فيها " الرمز والتاريخ " معا فاستحضرها وبكى بين يديها تعبيرا عن انكساره وخيبته الكبيرة والقارئ لشعر أمل دنقل يدرك منذ الوهلة الأولى انفتاحه الكبير على التراث وقدرته في التعامل معه في أبعاده المختلفة وهده النظرة بالذات من أبرز خصائصه الفنية.
