Consumption Trends Of Algerian Families In Times Of Covid-19
Résumé: The purpose of this study is to observe how Algerians have modified their consumption behavior in times of pandemic. In particular, we use the data collected from an online survey that explores the consumption patterns of Algerian families. By looking at the changes in spending and purchasing habits before and during the pandemic, let’s focus on identifying the impact that the change in income has had on consumer behavior. In addition, we will define the food basket of the selected category and evaluate purchasing and consumption habits against leisure activities. Our results show a change in consumer behavior in favor of health goods and services, as well as hygiene products while maintaining a priority on food consumption. The pandemic has prompted families to increase their domestic time and reduce their mobility, leading to new consumption practices in food and culture.
