Résumé: Spanish newspapers, showed a particular interest in May 1945 massacres in Algeria. A thourough reading of Franquist newspapers, particularly the daily papers ABC and La Vanguardia espanola, together with the half-weekly Ofensiva, which appeared in Cuenca, shows that these media were interested in the Algerian national movement during the Second World War, notably from February 1943 onwards. A close analysis of these papers articles about those events reveals that at the beginning they aligned themselves on the French officila position, as presented by the government and the media of the Left such as L'Humanité. However, their look on the events changed with the pressure the Allies exerted on the Franco regime between May and June 1945.
