Russia's Security Strategy In Its Vital Space "a Reading Of The Geopolitical Use Of Energy In The Ukrainian Crisis"

Résumé: Abstract: This study aims to shed light on the inherent relationship between the security strategies adopted by the Russian Federation over time in its biosphere and the geographical elements that formed the geopolitical background governing Russia's orientations towards the countries constituting this region. Ukraine represents a prominent node in the Russian security architecture in the region. From the point of view of the Russian decision-maker, it represents the most prominent defensive fortress that must be protected by all available means. The use of energy as a geopolitical tool gained particular importance during the Ukrainian crisis, as Russia used it to counter any attempts to compromise its national security. The study concludes that the geopolitical use of energy in the Ukrainian crisis from 2003 to the present day has enabled Russia to win several key battles against Western countries. But at the same time, this employment has contributed to Russia's loss of its position as a primary and reliable energy supplier to Russia's neighbours and Western countries. This has led these countries to search for other energy suppliers to secure their energy needs. Key words: Energy Geopolitics; Ukraine Crisis; Vital Space; Energy Security. ملخص: تهدف هذه الورقة البحثية الى إبراز العلاقة الكامنة بين الاستراتيجيات الأمنية التي تبعتها روسيا الفدرالية على مر العصور في محيطها الحيوي، وبين العناصر الجغرافية التي شكلت الخلفية الجيوبوليتيكة التي تحكمت في توجهات روسيا تجاه الدول المكونة لهذا المجال، وتبرز أوكرانيا كعقدة أساسية ضمن الهندسة الأمنية الروسية للإقليم والتي تعتبر بالنسبة لصانع القرار الروسي حصن الدفاع الأخير يتوجب حمايته بكل الأدوات المتاحة، ويبرز توظيف الطاقة جليا كسلاح جيوبوليتيكي حاسم استعملته روسيا خلال الازمة الاوكرانية لصد كل محاولات تقويض أمنها القومي. ولقد خلصت الدراسة الى أن التوظيف الجيوبوليتيكي للطاقة في الازمة الاوكرانية منذ 2003 الى يومنا هذا، مكن روسيا من حسم الكثير من المعارك الاساسية ضد الدول الغربية ، ولكن وفي ذات الوقت، فقد ساهم هذا التوظيف الى فقدان روسيا مكانتها كمورد أساسي وموثوق للطاقة تجاه الدول الجوار الروسي والدول الغربية، الأمر الذي أدى بتلك الدول الى البحث في مصادر اخرى للطاقة لتأمين حاجياتها من الطاقة. الكلمات المفتاحية: جيوبوليتيك الطاقة، الأزمة الأوكرانية، الفضاء الحيوي، أمن الطاقة.
