La Dimension Épique Dans Vaste Est La Prison Et Loin De Médine D’assia Djebar
Résumé: Abstract This memoir intends to examine the representation of women in two novels by Assia Djebar Vaste est la prison and Loin de Médine of our study as active and brave characters, allowing the heroes to achieve the object of their quest. . The process will be to shed light on heroic actions. The participation of women in the epic combat, initially reserved for the male gender, will be seen as a sign of their commitment to the progress of human society. In the two novels Vaste est la prison and Loin de Médine: History, always present in different forms in Assia Djebar's work, becomes for the first time a dominant theme in Loin de Médine; whereas in the novel Vast est la prison the theme of History is approached in a particular way: it is seen through the aspect of tradition. The two novels Vaste est la prison and Loin de Médine in fact pose the general question of "the writing of history" in Assia Djebar because of her rather singular status, taking into account her background, her education, her language, her exile….
