Résumé: The aim of this study the effectiveness of inflation targeting policy through some of the monetary policy instruments adopted by the Bank of Algeria during the period 1990-2018. The most important indicator of the effectiveness of this policy is that the central bank seeks to achieve the sole objective of general price stability. Inflation targeting is based on the control of inflation rates. Thus, the study measured the impact based on a model that includes three variables: the rate of re-deduction, the rate of inflation and the monetary mass. This was during the period 1990-2018 based on the VAR model. Recurrence rate This is the result of the absence of the appropriate conditions, namely, the granting of independence to the Central Bank. In addition, the monetary policy adopted in Algeria has a role in controlling inflation rates. This was relative to the fact that inflation in Algeria is not monetary inflation, but due to structural reasons such as the impact of the parallel market and external factors such as imported inflation.
