Résumé: ملخص: عرفت الساحة السياسة الجزائرية مطلع القرن 20م ظهورا لتيارات متعددة على رأسها التيار الاستقلالي الذي ساهم في بلورة وعي وطني وسط الشعب الجزائري، مستعينا بمختلف الوسائل المتاحة، فكان للعامل الديني الدور الكبير في إثراء العمل النضالي للتيار الاستقلالي، ذلك ما نريد توضيحه من خلال بحثنا. عموما التيار الاستقلالي اعتمد في نضاله السياسي على البعد الديني الإسلامي مركزا في أدبياته على استخدام المصطلحات ذات البعد الاسلامي من خلال خطابات قياداته وما كتب في المجلات والجرائد المرتبطة بالتيار كمثال استخدام عدة عبارات ذات المدلول الديني (المسلمين – الدين الإسلامي-الجبهة الإسلامية-الهوية الوطنية).
