Résumé: This study aimed to reveal the relationship between feeling loneliness and self–esteem among the students of the Faculty of social sciences. The study consisted of (156) students studying from. The first year and third year level at Oran-University. The researchers used two scales: loneliness scale prepared by Russel and self-esteem scale for Rosenberg. Which have been subjected to study Sakomitrih verify the conditions of validity and reliability. The results of the study indicated that: (a) There isa negative correlationbetweenlonelinessfeeling andself-esteemat a significance level(0.01). (b) There are no differencesbetween males and femalesin loneliness, whilethere are differencesin theself-esteemvariabletheir value(2.65) atthe significance level(0.01) between the sexes andin favor of males. (c) There are no differencesbetween the first year and third year in the feeling loneliness variable, whilethere are differencesin theself-esteemvariabletheir value(2.65) atthe significance level(0.01) betweenthe first yearand the third yearand in favor thethird year.
