Résumé: عملت روما على تعميم اللغة اللاتينية، التي وجدت في مدن بلاد المغرب القديم بيئة خصبة للانتشار والرسوخ، وهذا في ظل خلو السياحة من منافسة لغوية حقيقية، لذلك اعتمدت اللاتنية كلغة رسمية في المحاكم والمجالس والمراسيم وأثرت في اللغة اللوبية، وخاصة في الحواضر بين الطبقة المتعلمة والمثقفة، ورغم حرص روما على تعميم لغتها وآدابها بكافة الوسائل إلاّ أنها فشلت في تحقيق سياستها بصورة عملية، وذلك لرفض السكان الذين استمروا في استخدام لهجاتهم اللوبية المتأثرة باللغة البونية، خاصة في القرى والجبال وفي الصحراء. ومنذئذ برزت ظاهرة سيسيوثقافية في بلاد المغرب القديم جديرة بالدراسة، وهي مدن ناطقة بلغة المستعمر، وأياف محافظة على لغة البلاد. Rome worked to popularize the Latin language, which found in the cities of the ancient Maghreb a fertile environment for spread and entrenchment, and this is in light of the absence of real linguistic competition in the arena. Therefore, it adopted Latin as an official language in courts, councils and decrees, and influenced the Luba language, especially in the metropolises among the educated and educated class, Despite Rome’s keenness to popularize its language and literature by all means, it failed to implement its policy in a practical way, due to the rejection of the inhabitants who continued to use their Lubian dialects influenced by the Punic language, especially in villages, mountains and in the desert.
