Résumé: The noticed transformation in the desert of the city of Ouargla is an inevitablenecessity to keep up with the current development of the modern world as a result of the integration and communication amongmembers of the social group as a whole. This transformation in both social and cultural structures isreflected in the urbanfieldwhichdetermineits impact on the pattern, diversity and development of housing. All thisraisesmany of the problemsthat are investigatedfrom the anthropologicalside in order to know the role of the cultural and environmentalchoices in choosing the style of housingthatis in line with the urbanidentity of the modern city, and preserves the traditions which are fusedwithin the desertproperty in the urban area thatcharacterizesit.
