Reimagining Engineering Education: Interdisciplinary Solutions For Global Challenges In The Digital Era
Résumé: Engineering Education 4.0 introduces an innovative approach to preparing future engineers by merging digital tools, interdisciplinary collaboration, and cultural competency into engineering curricula. This paper critically examines methodologies such as Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), and interdisciplinary learning, which are grounded in constructivist and collaborative learning theories. These strategies prioritize experiential, active learning and global collaboration. The analysis demonstrates how these methods not only equip students with technical skills but also foster the global competencies required to tackle complex challenges in the modern workforce. By promoting cross-cultural teamwork, interdisciplinary problem-solving, and digital literacy, Engineering Education 4.0 positions students for success in a highly interconnected world. Additionally, the paper explores future directions for engineering education, including the integration of emerging technologies and addressing disparities in digital access.
