Résumé: ملخص مقال : تعرضت موريتانيا للتنافس الاستعماري الأوربي منذ القرن 15 م، بدأ بالبرتغاليين والاسبان ثم الهولنديين والانجليز والفرنسيين، واستتب الأمر في النهاية للفرنسيين الذين راهنوا على استكمال مشروع احتلال شمال غرب إفريقيا لأسباب إستراتيجية وسياسية ودينية واقتصادية، متخذين إستراتيجية في السيطرة على البلاد، إذ دخلوا في البداية كتجار ثم ما لبثوا وأن استمالوا رؤساء القبائل المحلية مستغلين التنافس المحموم بينهم فأغرتهم بالسلطة والمال وألبت الواحد على الأخر حتى استطاعت أن توقع اتفاقيات متفرقة مع أبرز القبائل الموريتانية كالترارزة 1903 م والبراكنة 1904 وتكانت 1905 وأخيرا آدرار عام 1909 م، وبالتالي استكملت مشروع الاحتلال الذي بدأ به " قزافيي كوبولاني" مهندس مشروع الاحتلال بداية القرن العشرين . الكلمات المفتاحية : موريتانيا; التنافس ;الاستعمار ; فرنسا ; أوربا ; القبائل ; السلطة ;التجارة ....
