Etude De L’influence Du Concassage Du Gravier Roulé Sur Les Performances Des Mélanges Hydraulique Et Hydrocarboné.

Résumé: Coarse aggregate is one of the important contents of concrete and asphalt mixtures, It represents over than 60% of the total proportion of concrete. More the properties of the coarse aggregate are efficacy, more the quality of the mixtures will be also efficacy. Rounded aggregates (GR) are known by their toughness, but its rounded smooth shape decreases its adhesive capacity with cement and asphalt binders while crushed aggregates (GC), which are the most used in Algeria, are less tough, but its angular rough surface improves the adhesive capacity in the different types of mixtures (concrete and asphalt mixtures). This study is carried out in order to evaluate the impact of the two different shapes (Rounded and Crushed) of the coarse aggregate on the mechanical properties of the Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) and concrete, in order to value the thousands of tons of gravel rolled which is in abundance in the desert of our country (for example Reg of BORDJ BADJI MOKHTAR) instead of assumed additional economic charges by looking for crushed gravel on hundreds kilometer far from the project site. Two coarse aggregate types were used in this investigation GR and GC. Different tests have been carried out, Marshall Test (flow and stability), Indirect tensile stiffness modulus test (ITSM) and Boiling water stripping test for HMA and slump test, splitting tensile strengths, flexural tensile and compressive strength test for concrete. The results indicate that GR improve the workability of the mixture, thus the thickness measurements and compactness results. GC improves the stability results and slightly the stiffness modulus; likewise, it required more bitumen content than GR to fill all surface voids as Boiling water stripping test results indicates.
