Integration Of English Language In The Ministry Of Higher Education And Scientific Research Context

Résumé: English, as a science language, a lingua franca, and a language of diplomatic interaction, is getting more appreciation and demand around the world. Implementing English as a medium of instruction in the educational sector has always been of perennial interest to the Algerian authorities who have recently begun to take practical steps toward the linguistic shift. Many researchers have recently opted for English rather than French to conduct their investigations due to the amount of data in this language. The present research aims at investigating the effectiveness of making use of English in the Algerian ministry of higher education and evaluating the validity of the strategies and methods adopted. It is also an attempt to shed the light on the Algerian linguistic situation focusing on English status on higher educational systems and institutions. To fulfill the aim of the present research, a descriptive study was adopted through designing three questionnaires, the first one for the professors assigned to teach the university teachers, the second one were addressed the teachers who are learning EMI, the third one for the students from several departments and a face to face interview with the head of the department
