Résumé: ملخص: إن ضرورة وكيفية التدخل لحماية البيئة، لا يمكن أن يتحدد بدور معين، أو وسيلة محددة بالذات، إذ إن الاعتداءات على البيئة مختلفة الأنماط والأشكال، ومهما يكن فإن أسلوب وشكل التدخل، يتحدد حسب طبيعة الاعتداء ذاته؛ من كونه وشيك الوقوع؛ حيث يفرض اتخاذ التدبير والإجراءات الوقائية للحيلولة دون وقوعه، وهو ما يعرف بالدور الوقائي الذي يرتكز أساسا على التربية والإعلام البيئي، أو كونه اعتداء واقع ألحق ضررا بالبيئة أو أحد عناصرها فتكون وسيلة علاجية باتخاذ أساليب الضغط المختلفة قضائية وغير قضائية؛ وفي مقالنا هذه سنحاول التطرق إلى دور الجمعيات في تشكيل الوعي البيئي لدى الأفراد والجماعات، والذي لن يأتي إلا من خلال اعتماد الجمعيات على التحسيس والتربية البيئية والتفكير في إرساء ثقافة يمكنها أن تشكل رأيا عاما ينادي بالحفاظ علي البيئة ويعمل على تدعيم الجهات الرسمية اتجاه أي ضرر يلحق بها. الكلمات المفتاح : الجمعيات؛ حماية البيئة؛ الوقاية .
