Résumé: لقد تعددت أشكال الحركات الاجتماعية وأنواعها ومجالاتها وكثيرا ما تنشأ الحركات الاجتماعية الاحتجاجية بغرض تحقيق التغير حول قضية عامة مثل التوسع في الحقوق المدنية لإحدى شرائح السكان، وقد تبرز مقابل هذه الحركات، حركات أخرى مضادة تسعى إلى الحفاظ على الوضع الراهن، ونشهد مثل هذه الحركات المضادة في عدة مجالات، وتمثل الحركات الاجتماعية الشكل الأكثر فعالية وقوة وتأثيرا في المجتمع. لذا فقد أصبحت الحركات الاجتماعية والاحتجاجية موضوعا للدراسة والتحليل ينشغل به الكثير من أهل العلوم الاجتماعية والسياسية بهدف فهم شروط انتاجها وسيرورتها وآفاق تطورها.
