Résumé: The waqf system is considered to have played an active role in the history of Islamic civilization. Algeria was known for the phenomenon of waqf before the arrival of the turks to Algeria , and therefore it is a social phenomenon linked to the relationship of Algerians with the religion of islam , During the Ottoman era in Algeria , the waqf was distributed to several cultural institions that differed in the various objectives of the waqf and in the diversity of tasks assigned to it . This reseach aims to shed light on the set of laws that the Algerian legislature has drawn up to regulate the endowment , to try to analyze them and to identify the gaps in which the Algerian legislature has been exposed to the nature of the endowment as well as its types and characteristics . it has also organized the mechanisms for this purpose , most of which were contracts adopted by the administration for the development and utilization of the endowment with a with a view to achieving the purpose for which it was established .
