Résumé: يعد الحوار أحد العناصر السردية الأساسية، التي يرتكز عليها الراوي في إبراز مجريات الأحداث، و الكشف على مستوى الوعي لدى الشخصيات في روايته. كما يعد أحد التقنيات الجمالية التي تسهم في بلورة شعرية و أدبية النص السردي على العموم، و النص الروائي على الخصوص. و يمكن هنا أن نميز بين مستويين من الحوار؛ الحوار (الديالوجي)، و الحوار (المونولوجي). هذا الأخير الذي خصصناه كموضوع للدراسة في ورقة هذا البحث، حيث نقف عنده في نص (فضل الليل على النهار ) من خلال التطرق إلى مفهوم الحوار المونولوجي كتقنية سردية ذات أهمية تواصلية بالغة، و الدواعي المؤدية إلى توظيفه كاختيار دون سواه. كما نتطرق من خلال هذه الدراسة إلى تحديد صياغته ضمن المستويات اللغوية المختلفة و إظهار تأثيرها في تموضع شخصيات النص. Abstract : Speech is one of the fundamental factors that the narrator bases on to make the course of events clear and to reveal the level of awareness in his her novel’s characters. Also, it is considered as one of the aesthetic techniques that emphasises the poetic and literary features of narrative texts in general and novels in particular. We can differentiate between two types of speech: dialogue and monologue, the latter, which is the subject to be studied in this research paper, is treated in)What the Day owes the Night) through referring to the concept of monologue, as a narrative technique of significant importance in communication; in addition, we shed light on the reasons choosing monologue, and no other. Furthermore, we determine, in this study, how monologue is formulated in the different language levels and how its formulation influences the positioning
