Résumé: This study aims to know the role of the written expression in revealing thecognitive inputs to the learning process for fifth-year students. The study wasbased on the following main question:what is the impact of the writtenexpression in revealing the outcomes of the learning process for the fifth-yearstudents? To answer the main question, a field study was conducted in which thedescriptive approach was used with the help of a set of tools represented inanalysis and observation. As for the study sample, it consisted of ten (10)students from one primary school in the city of Ouargla during the 2020/2021academic year. The results of the study concluded that the written expressionisthebestwaytoknowthestudent’sabilitytoemployhislinguisticinputs,andwe also found that employing the inputs acquired in the written expressionrequires frequent, controlled, and directed linguistic practice so that the studentcanconverthisinputsintooutputsinthewrittenexpression.
