Qualite Des Eaux De L’aquifere Du Continental Intercalaire (ci) De Metlili
Résumé: The region of Metlili is located in the Algerian Sahara, covers an area of 5010 km2, its population is estimated at around 54,041 inhabitants. Groundwater is the only source to meet the various needs (AEP, irrigation and industry). The quality of its groundwater is still in question because of its very significant mineralization and the concentration of undesirable elements such as nitrates. The hydro-chemical study shows that CI waters are dominated by three types of facies: calcium sulphate 27.28%, sodium sulphate 54.54% and sodium chloride 18.18%. the concentration of chemical elements are within the acceptable limits for drinking water with reference to Algerian standards for drinking water. The use of the Water Quality Index (WQI) method shows that its water is of poor quality for drinking water supply. the evaluation of water quality for irrigation is based on the methods of Richards and Wilcox, Electricalconductivity (EC) and permeability index (PI), Residual sodium carbonate,% Na, Kelly report ( KR), Salinity potential (PS), Magnesium risk (RM).
