The Financial Developments Of The Maghreb Countries During Covid-19: Present Challenges And Future Horizons

Résumé: This study aims at showing the financial developments of the Maghreb countries during Covid-19 and the main challenges faced by these countries in their endeavor to improve their general financial circumstances. To answer the problematic of the study that revolves around knowing the financial developments of the Maghreb countries during Covid-19, we used the analytical descriptive method because it is the most suitable. We analyzed the statistics about the study topic in the light of the report on the horizons of the Arab economy published by the Arab Monetary Fund in 2021. Findings show that the general finance in these countries faces difficult challenges which affect the levels of deficiency and the general indebtedness. Moreover, despite the recovery from the effects of the pandemic, these countries face a geopolitical crisis caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine which had negative effects on the international economy. This makes it hard for these countries to handle the inflation that led to the rise of the food prices worldwide and the decrease of the purchasing power in a period that witnesses limited revenues and an increase in the public expenditure.
