The Educational Challenges Facing Primary School Teachers In The Application Of Modern Evaluation Strategies Within The Competency-based Approach - A Case Study Of A Sample Of Primary Schools.

Résumé: Assessment plays a crucial role in the success of any endeavor, particularly in the field of education. The competency-based curriculum is an integral part of the educational initiatives undertaken by the Algerian government to enhance the education system. This study seeks to uncover the challenges primary school teachers encounter when applying modern assessment strategies within the competency-based approach. To accomplish this, a survey was utilized to gather data, with a sample of 30 primary school teachers from Boumerdes province (Algeria) participating. The overall findings revealed various obstacles and educational hurdles faced by primary school teachers in implementing modern assessment strategies within the competency-based approach. Additionally, the study offers a set of practical recommendations to assist teachers in evaluating their students within the competency-based framework.
