Résumé: يتناول هذا المقال الأوبئة والأمراض وانعكاساتها على المجتمع الجزائري خلال أواخر العهد العثماني، شهدت الجزائر في هذا العهد انتشارا واسعا للأوبئة التي كان مصدرها التجار والأسرى من البلدان المجاورة، ولقد أثر الوضع الصحي على الوضع الديمغرافي بعدما انتشرت عدّة أمراض وكوارث طبيعية كالجفاف، الجراد، الزلازل، ولقد كان مصدر هذه الأمراض والأوبئة المتفشية الدّول التي كانت ترتبط بالإيالة اقتصاديا وتجاريّا، فكانت السّفن الوافدة إلى المراسي الجزائريّة مصدرا هاما لانتقال الأمراض المعدية والأوبئة، التي تسبّبت في اختلال النّمو الدّيمغرافي وتراجع حركية الأنّشطة الاقتصاديّة، إضافة إلى تعرّض الإيالة إلى الكوارث الطبيعيّة كالفيضانات والجفاف، حملات الجراد والزّلازل. This article deals with epidemics and diseases and their repercussions on Algerian society. During the late Ottoman era, Algeria witnessed in this era a wide spread of epidemics whose origin was merchants and prisoners from neighboring countries. The health situation affected the demographic situation after several diseases and natural disasters such as drought, locusts spread, Earthquakes, and the source of these rampant diseases and epidemics was the countries that were associated with the economic and commercial maintenance, so the ships arriving in the Algerian moorings were an important source of transmission of infectious diseases and epidemics, which caused the disruption of demographic growth and the decline of movement Economic activities, in addition to the exposure Alaaalh to natural disasters such as floods, droughts, earthquakes, locusts and campaigns.
