Résumé: This study aims to identify the most important mechanisms used by the Bank of Algeria to hedge against the risks of depreciation in the real value of foreign exchange reserves. We have addressed the important concepts related to reserves and central banks, and then delved into the management and utilization mechanisms of reserves by the Bank of Algeria. This study has concluded that the hypotheses of the study are accepted except for the partial rejection of the fourth hypothesis. Additionally, we have assessed the efficiency of the Bank of Algeria in managing reserves, whether through early repayment of external debt, the establishment of the revenue adjustment fund, which contributed to the economic recovery and investment in sovereign treasury bonds and other secured financial assets
