The British Family Between Change And Continuity

Résumé: The British family expanded interesting points and it has been refreshing to see some of the social policy that governs the family life set context. Coming back to the days when women used to stay at home and care about the children and men were bread winners,the British family has shown just how society has changed over the years. The first chapter demonstrates that the traditional British family has been reduced and there is no specific definition ofa “typical” family. This work includes a discussion of new family structures,including nuclear, extended,lone-parent families, andthe roles of family members. These days, there is no such thing as a typical British family.It has been heard about the nuclear family,which usually consists of an adult man,an adult woman and dependent children;this is the typical British family. The second chapter discusses many issues concerning the woman’s liberation and her access to the labour market,and lots of factors that have contributed to the change in the British family such as change in social attitudes and customs,in legislation,and the advancement of science and technology.As a result,both children and especially women have been suffering a lot due this change.
