Résumé: The current study aimed to explore the relationship between school guidance, the level of ambition and achievement motivation. Among a sample of second year secondary school students in some establishments in Laghouat, according to the following intermediate variables: gender, academic specialty (Literature and Scientific students) and the type of guidance (according to pupil desire and without pupil desire) for the academic year 2015/2016. A sample of (370) student has been chosen randomly from Literature and Scientific students second year of secondary schools in Laghouat, as descriptive method was adopted to be conform to this study. For data collection, two scales have been used, the Hermans achievement motivation scale for children and adults, translated into Arabic by Faruk Abdulfattah Musa (1981), and Camelia Abdulfattah level of ambition scale. We used SPSS 20.0 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) in order to analyze data, where the statistical methods used included: Means, Standard deviations, Pearson correlation coefficient, (t of student) tests. The results of the study were as follow: - Students in the sample of the study show a high level of ambition. - Students in the sample of the study show a level of achievement motivation higher than the average. - There are differences between students in the level of ambition due to type of guidance. - There are differences between students in the level of achievement motivation due to type of guidance. - There are no differences between students in the level of ambition due to gender. - There are differences between students in the level of achievement motivation due to gender. - There are differences between students in the level of ambition due to academic specialty. - There are no differences between students in the level of achievement motivation due toacademicspecialty. - There is a relationship between school guidance and the level of ambition. - There is a relationship between school guidance and achievement motivation. - There is a relationship between the level of ambition and achievement motivation.
