Résumé: Many studies have shown that corruption has negative effects on both economic efficiency and growth, through the effects of corruption on both incentives for investment and productive activities (as opposed to rent-seeking activities) and on the quality and efficiency of public utilities, markets and Resource allocation and equity in income distribution. In this study we aim to show the impact of corruption on economic growth in Algeria during the period 1996-2016 using the following tests: common integration, causation and estimation of the equation of the model with VECM, we found a negative relationship between the rate of economic growth and corruption in Algeria.
