Résumé: The dissertation presents an important topic related to the significance of semantic fields in Arabic language dictionaries, as well as the importance of the semantic relations encompassed within these fields. This is examined through a rich and valuable dictionary that falls under the category of classified thematic dictionaries based on the semantic field approach or the general concept. It is the dictionary of the names of remnants of things by Abu Hilal al-Askari, a linguist. It should be noted that this dictionary has gone unnoticed by scholars, and we had the opportunity to work on it. We applied the descriptive methodology in describing the semantic fields included in this dictionary, and we relied on the tool of analysis to analyze the semantic relations listed within these fields. Our research led to several findings, including that this categorized dictionary includes sub-semantic fields related to the field of remnants of things, such as plants, animals, humans, and inanimate objects. These fields encompass semantic relations among their terms, such as the relation of commonality, synonymy, inclusion, part-whole relationship, and implication. Consequently, this dictionary has served the Arabic language with numerous benefits and can be utilized to achieve effective communication for expressing the finest details of things that individuals require for their purposes in our present time.
