Résumé: The subject of our research dealt with the challenges related to activating the role of intellectual capital to achieve the competitive advantage of economic institutions, Through the theoretical part of the research, the first chapter was concerned with clarifying the concepts and theoretical foundations of intellectual capital, While the folds of the second chapter described the contents and frameworks of the competitive advantage of economic institutions. And the applied part of the research is the study of the production institution of the SIDAL Complex in Madiyya, The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance of intellectual capital and its impact on achieving the competitive advantage of the institution under study, By using the questionnaire tool as a quantitative method of data collection by the study sample employees at different levels in the institution. We used the outputs of the statistical analysis program Spss to test the hypotheses of t he study, Which concluded that there was a statistically significant relationship between intellectual capital and achieving competitive advantage at a significant level of in the institution under study. We also concluded that there were no statistically significant differences between the respondents' responses to the personal data at the level of statistical significance . And one of the most important recommendations of this study is the need for the economic institutions in general and SIDAL in particular to recognize the importance of intellectual capital, its management and development to achieve competitive advantages that are hard to imitate, to adapt and influence a hostile and changing business environment
