The Role Of Small And Medium-sized Enterprises In Achieving Sustainable Development In Algeria

Résumé: This article aims to highlight the role of Algerian SMEs in achieving sustainable development and thus their effective contribution to the economy of the State. The latter play an indisputable role in the economic fabric and occupy a unique place in the growth of the production apparatus, which is a source of wealth, the satisfaction of economic and social needs and the absorption of unemployment. The results of our research indicate that small and medium-sized enterprises in Algeria are fragile and do not contribute effectively to economic development, social and job creation, although Algeria has been able to diversify its economy. However, the principle of maximization of profit prevents compliance with environmental rules, except as a result of administrative pressures.
