Résumé: The idea of Islamic rating agencies reflects the interest of those who work within the Islamic ‎banking field. These agencies rate Islamic institutions and products because their rating shows ‎the leaderships and sponsoring institutions’ awareness of the evolution of the Islamic Finance ‎Industry, the advanced stage that it has reached and to what extent it needs rationalization, ‎quality and mastery, Shariah compliance within the legal and theoretical principles, the practices ‎and practical applications. Shariah based rating is an operation that aims at providing information ‎and independent assessment of Islamic financial institutions’ discipline and commitment, in view ‎of the importance of being reassured about the integrity of the financial industry and providing ‎enough protection for the customers’ financial and non-financial assets and rights. ‎
