Contrastive Analysis Of Temporal Expressions Used In Adrarian And Blidian Dialects
Résumé: This research work endeavor to analyze the sociolinguistic situation in Algeria by examining the dialect of two extended areas. The first one is located in south Algeria, known as Adrar. Whereas the second one is found in the north, named as Blida. This examination centralizes the use of temporal expressions, through which a contrastive analysis is drawn between the two dialects with reference to their standard language (MSA). Following a qualitative methodology, two questionnaires were distributed on 20 randomly chosen informants living in Bouarfa, which is situated in Blida, and Titaf that is found in Adrar (Tuat region). The study required three chapters, in which each one fulfilled a certain objective. Furthermore, it aimed at highlighting some important linguistic aspects characterizing speakers of the two speech communities according to their use to temporal expressions. The results we came up with contributed in understanding the reasons behind the different use of the provided temporal expressions.
