Analysis Of Translation Errors Following The Markedeness Frame In Students' Performance Of Translalation Of English Conditional Types
Résumé: The current study attempted to investigate if L3 advanced learners have difficulties in translating conditional types sentences from Arabic into English, aiming to relate it to Markedness Deferential Hypothesis. Based on MDH, the difficulty of learning a native language can be predicted through the typological markedness. The purposes of the research are Exploring the difficulty of English translating students in conditional also to distinguish the marked and unmarked conditional types between Arabic and English. The study employed questionnaire, pilot study and translation test to examine the translation of conditionals. The results confirmed that L3 advanced learners commit errors while translating conditional sentences from Arabic into English and showed that they commit more errors in marked conditional type which is hypothetical conditional.
