The Fact Of Energy Prices Subsidies In Mena Region
Résumé: This study aims to highlight the fact of subsidizing energy prices in the MENA region, where it represents one of the main pillars of economic policies in the region's economies both oil importers and oil exporters. We find through data analysis that The region has the largest part of pre-tax subsidies with a value of 250 billion dollars in 2013 and a share of 47% of global pre-tax subsidies. The results also show that Iran has the big part of both pre-tax subsidies and post tax subsidies _as a share of GDP_ in the region by about 15% and 26% respectively.
