Nascent Entrepreneurship And Economic Growth In The Middle East And North Africa Countries: An Analysis Of Panel Data From 2009 To 2022

Résumé: This study aims to explore how entrepreneurship could enhance the economic prosperity of the MENA region. MENA countries are characterized by low export diversification due to their abundant natural resources. The study considers GDP per capita, non-oil exports, inflow FDI, manufacturing value-added, and trade openness using panel data that covers thirteen MENA nations from 2009 to 2022. Non-oil exports and incoming foreign direct investment (FDI) positively and considerably affect economic growth. In contrast, entrepreneurial density has a negative and significant effect on growth, according to the GLS estimation results. In addition to shedding insight into the significance of non-oil exports and FDI for economic development, this study provides a more nuanced view of the effects of entrepreneurship, contributing to the existing literature in this field. ملخص: تستعرض هذه الدراسة تأثير المؤسسات الناشئة وريادة الأعمال في النمو الاقتصادي لدول منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا. تتميز دول منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا بمستوى منخفض من تنويع الصادرات نتيجةً لوفرة الموارد الطبيعية. تهدف الدراسة القياسية إلى قياس أثر كثافة المؤسسات الناشئة الجديدة، الناتج المحلي الإجمالي للفرد، والصادرات غير النفطية، والاستثمارات الأجنبية المباشرة الواردة، والقيمة المضافة للصناعات التحويلية، والانفتاح التجاري على النمو الاقتصادي خلال الفترة الممتدة من (2009-2022) في 13 دولة بالمنطقة. تكشف نتائج التقدير بواسطة تقنية GLS أن مؤشر ريادة الأعمال يؤثر على النمو الاقتصادي معنويا وعكسيا، بينما تؤثر الصادرات الغير النفطية والاستثمارات الأجنبية المباشرة الواردة معنويا وطرديا على النمو الاقتصادي. يثري هذا المقال الأدبيات السابقة من خلال تقديم رؤية متنوعة حول تأثير ريادة الأعمال وتسليط الضوء على أهمية الصادرات الغير النفطية والاستثمارات الأجنبية المباشرة للنمو الاقتصادي في المنطقة.
