The Equilibrium Relationship Between Real Exchange Rate, Balance Of Payment And Economic Growth In Algeria. A Standard Study From 1995-2019

Résumé: يعتبر كل من سعر الصرف و ميزان المدفوعات والنمو الاقتصادي من أهم المؤشرات الاقتصادية التي تعكس وضعية اقتصاد كل دولة بالنسبة للاقتصاد العالمي، حيث تهدف هذه الورقة الى محاولة دراسة أثر سعر الصرف الحقيقي على ميزان المدفوعات وعلى النمو الاقتصادي، وما واقع ذلك على الاقتصاد الجزائري خلال الفترة (2019-1995) والتي شهدت عدة إصلاحات اقتصادية وانتقال الجزائر من اقتصاد موجه الى اقتصاد السوق وتبني نظام التعويم المدار، وقد توصلت النتائج بعد استخدام نموذج الانحدار الذاتي للفجوات الزمنية المتباطئة (ARDL) باستخدام برنامج Eviews 10 الى وجود أثر سلبي لسعر الصرف الحقيقي على ميزان المدفوعات والنمو الاقتصادي في الجزائر بوجود كل من الاستثمار الأجنبي المباشر، التضخم، عرض النقود بمعناه الواسع والانفاق الحكومي كمتغيرات ضابطة. Exchange rate, the balance of payments and economic growth are considered as the most important economic indicators that reflect the economic position of each state in relation to the world economy. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of real exchange rate on economic growth and its real impact on the Algerian economy during the period of (1995-2019) which has witnessed several economic reforms and the transition from market-oriented economy to open market with the adoption of managed float regime. Using Autoregressive Distributed Lag Model (ARDL) with Eviews 10 the results of the study have indicated a negative effect of real effective exchange rate on the balance of payments and economic growth in Algeria with the existence of foreign direct investment, inflation, money supply and public spending as control variables.
