Analysis And Design Of A Rose-shaped Microstrip Patch Antenna
Résumé: The aim of this project is to study and design a circular based rose-shaped microstrip patch antenna working around radar frequency (3 GHZ). For purpose of familiarization, the work is started by designing a circular patch antenna at the radar frequency and its radioelectric properties are determined. After that, the work is extended to rose-shaped patch, inspired from the circular shape, by finding the appropriate dimensions that result in 3 GHz resonant frequency. It has been found that, the structure operates at multi frequencies (3 GHz, 5 GHz, 6.35 GHz, and 9.11 GHz), but the matching to 50 U reveals difficult. To solve the encountered problem, the same patch is designed as a monopole antenna. It has been found that the antenna not only works at the desired frequencies but ultra large band operation is reached. Furthermore, the frequency band reaches 15.5 GHz with around 140% bandwidth. In addition, the radiated fields are almost omnidirectional with distributions similar to the lower and higher order modes of the structure. Finally, the obtained monopole results have been verified by realizing practically the antenna and comparing the results.
