Évaluation De La Biodiversité Des Peuplements De Coléoptères Dans Trois Types D'habitats Forestiers (quercus Suber, Quercus Canariensis, Forêt Mixte) De La Forêt De Ouled Bechih, Nord-est De L'algérie
Résumé: An analysis of the Coleoptera populations of the oak stands of Ouled BechihForest, in the province of Souk Ahras, north-eastern Algeria, revealed the presence of 76species, belonging to 21 families. The family with the highest species richness wasScarabaeidae (22%), followed by Carabidae (16%). Comparisons between the coleopte-ran faunas of three habitat types in this forest showed that cork oak stands hosted thehighest species richness (74 species) followed by zeen oak stands (43 species), andmixed forest (32 species). Based on their ecological importance and trophic links, thesespecies can divided into three basic categories, namely coprophagous, phytophagous andpredatory beetles. Among the species sampled were five with protected status in Algeria(Eurycarabus faminii, Calosoma inquisitor, Onthophagus taurus, Silpha granulataandLixus algirus), one endemic to North Africa (Calathus fuscipes algericus), one endemicto the western Mediterranean (Psilothrix illustris), one with endangered status(Geotrupes niger), one with vulnerable status (Cerambyx cerdo) and two bio-indicatorsof forest quality (Stenagostus rhombeusand Cerambyx cerdo). A hierarchical clusteringanalysis grouped cork and zeen oak stands together, separate from mixed stands.
