The Role Of Small Enterprises In Strengthening Economic Power
Résumé: Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are essential drivers of economic growth, innovation, and job creation worldwide. Defined by their size, revenue, and the number of employees, SMEs account for the majority of businesses in many economies and are crucial in shaping local, national, and global markets (OECD, 2019). Their ability to adapt quickly to changes, provide employment, and promote regional development has made them a pillar of economic vitality. In the global economy, SMEs have taken a central role, particularly in developing and emerging economies such as China. In China, SMEs contribute significantly to the country’s economic success, acting as key players in industrial growth, trade, and domestic consumption. The Chinese government's policies over the past few decades have strongly supported the growth of SMEs, facilitating their role in global economic systems. This paper explores the importance of SMEs in global economic power with a specific focus on China, highlighting their contributions to innovation, employment, and economic diversification.
