Digital Diplomacy And Political Communication In The 21st Century: Navigating Challenges And Harnessing Opportunities In A Connected World

Résumé: Abstract: The main objective of this research paper is twofold. Firstly, it analyzes the diplomatic exchanges carried out in the digital era in order to systematize and clarify the concepts of digital diplomacy and public diplomacy in the academic, media, and political fields. Secondly, the paper seeks to show how the scientific usage of these terms can later be applied to political and governmental debates as a way of contributing to the reinforcement of democracy. We hope to do this by comparing how different governments disclose these economic, social, and political realities in which they live to the international community. These facts must be known to other stakeholders within the complex context of international relations. As follows, a review of the academic bibliography on international relations, particularly on diplomacy and public diplomacy, is addressed. The second section clarifies the meanings of diplomatic activities and explains the framework of diplomatic activity from the most traditional to the most contemporary. The essence of this second concept is an understanding for which we particularly value the contributions of digital native scholars.
