Résumé: The study aims at identifying the impact of cooperative learning strategy in physical education and sports lesson in the development of social skills of secondary school students. The study was conducted at one of the municipalities of Ouargla. The study sample consisted of (72) male and female students divided into two sections, randomly assigned to two groups, an experimental group of (36) male and female students with whom the cooperative learning strategy was applied, and a control group of (36) male and female students with whom the usual method of teaching was used. To achieve the objectives of the study, the experimental method was used with a semi-experimental design. The study data were compiled using the Ronald Reggio Social Skills Scale. Translated by Ibrahim Al-Samadouni, which consists of six dimensions divided into two parts, three of which relate to verbal and non-verbal skills; the measure was used before and after activation of the experimental variable (cooperative learning strategy). This lasted (09) weeks. In order to process the data obtained statistically and in order to test the hypotheses of the study, the test (t-test) was used to measure the differences between the experimental group and the control group in social skills. The results of the study showed that the cooperative learning strategy led to the development of social skills in the physical and sports education in the study sample, and also showed that there are differences in social skills in the sample of the experimental group attributed to the gender variable in favor of females.
