Résumé: الملخص: تهدف هذه الورقة البحثية إلى التعريف بتاريخ تجارة الرقيق في الجنوب الجزائري خلال القرن 19م، وذلك وفق ما كتبه بعض الغربيين ممن زاروا هذه المنطقة، وتبيان ظاهرة العبودية ودورها في الحياة الاجتماعية بالمنطقة، هذه الفئة التي استعبدت وظلت مهملة لقرون طويلة لصالح الفئات المتنفّذة في المجتمع. وتسعى هذه الدراسة إلى إبراز أحوال فئة الرقيق التي تواجدت بالجنوب الجزائري، خلال القرن التاسع عشر،وهي محاولة لإظهار أصولها وطريقة استعبادهاووظائفها الاجتماعية والاقتصادية،وانتشارها في ربوع الصحراء بواسطة قوافل التجارة العابرة للصحراء . Abstract This research paper aims to introduce the history of the slave trade in southern Algeria during the 19th century AD, according to what was written by some Westerners who visited this region, and to show the phenomenon of slavery and its role in the social life of the region. This study seeks to highlight the conditions of the slave class that existed in southern Algeria, during the nineteenth century, and it is an attempt to show its origins, the method of enslavement, its social and economic functions, and its spread throughout the Sahara by cross-Saharan trade convoys.
