Printed Circular Ring Monopole Antenna Using A Metamaterial
Résumé: This work describes the analysis of circular ring microstrip line fed monopole printed antennas using metamaterial. The investigation considers four successive configurations: single circular ring – double circular ring (with an inner ring as parasitic element) – slotted circular ring and slotted double circular ring. This study has ended with a tri-band reduced size structure covering the frequency ranges [2.35- 2.44 GHz], [2.55-3.08 GHz] and [4.27 to 6.58 GHz] making it suitable for various wireless applications such as WLAN, medical and radar applications. The developed structure is printed on a 30x30x1.63 mm3 glass epoxy FR-4 substrate and its return loss measured where an agreement is observed between simulated and measured results. The simulations which concern return loss, input impedance, current distribution and radiation pattern were carried out using the CST Microwave Studio.
