The Social Importance Of Sounds
Résumé: The present article intends to draw the attention of teachers on some aspects of an Algerian language student’s sound discrimination possibility and it’s close to the socialization process. The study is based on a hypothesis that any adult acquiring a foreign language should be reeducated because he is physically and psychologically unable to perceive the total of the new acoustic reality as well as to derive and make the necessary linguistic correlations and abstractions. The article concludes that phonetics should include a branch that would be labeled “re-educational phonetics”, a branch that would include what is traditionally called articulatory phonetics and that referred to as acoustic phonetics.
