Résumé: Random housing requires continuous research and striving to achieve and to fully address all the needs of the population. Studies related to random housing are also considered among the most important housing studies. The problem of random housing has become a global issue affecting most countries in the world in the 21st century. This study highlights random housing through its definition, causes behind its emergence, and its types. The research then proceeds to review cases and experiences of international and Arab slum areas and how to deal with them. The research also addresses the slum areas of the city of Tebessa particularly the study of Fadl Eddin Al Hadi Saleh (Dwar Alghorba). The research concludes with a range of findings and recommendations. There are several ways to address the slum areas including: removal, development and enhancement. The type of intervention varies depending on the region's circumstances, whether physical, social or economic. Hence, the research analyses strategies for dealing with slum areas through technical operations on urban interventions. Given the problems and challenges that the neighbourhood is facing, our research addresses The phenomenon of random housing from the premise of the urban renewal policy which aims to improve it according to architectural characteristics by radical change since it is a tumor within a single urban fabric that needs to be eradicated. This happens in partnership with the populations and their feedback to meet their wishes within the law to revive the neighbourhood and provide it with a function that serves the urban field. In this context, we have developed a proposal for solutions to the problems of the neighbourhood by establishing an urban renewal project and a final visualisation of the scheme of the neighbourhood, taking into account various laws and contemporary architectural standards.
