Résumé: Language learning strategies (LLS) have been the focus of a huge number of foreign language studies. However, many researches in this field have not thoroughly examined its effectiveness on writing skill. This latter is considered to be the most difficult skill for the majority of learn Algerian learners to learn as they experience negative feeling that inhibit or render their learning more difficult .For this reason, the current study investigates students perception and attitudes towards the importance of using cooperative learning strategy to improve their writing proficiency . The research has opted for a questionnaire, which is submitted to third year EFL students at Naama university center. The data gathered are analyzed and interpreted quantitatively and qualitatively. The results gained have revealed that cooperative learning is an effective strategy in teaching writing skill as it has positive impact on students writing skill and increasing their motivation to write.
