Résumé: : أثار كتاب عصر علماني للمفكر الكندي تشارلز تايلور جدلا واسعا في الساحة الفلسفية المعاصرة، ففيه قدم مقاربات جديدة وجريئة تحاول تبرير جدل العلاقة بين الدين والعلمانية في عصر الحداثة الغربية، متجاوزا السرد التاريخي للعلمانية، باحثا عن إمكانية عودة الديني ورد الاعتبار للمقدس والدين بعدما تم اقصاؤه من الفضاء العام الحديث. وضرورة اقحام جميع الذوات المؤمنة وغير المؤمنة في البحث عن مصير النحن المشترك، فيراهن من خلال النقد والتجاوز على إعادة إحياء التجربة الإيمانية في الحياة الاجتماعية، وذلك سعيا منه نحو التأسيس لمجتمع ما بعد علماني، يتساوى فيه المتدين مع الملحد تحت وصاية أخلاق التعدد والاعتراف بالآخر والأصالة.
