Résumé: يرمي هذا المقال إلى فتح نافدة من تاريخ تلمسان الاجتماعي خلال العهد العثماني، حيث يواجه الدّارس لتاريخ تلمسان خلال هذه الفترة جملة من الصعوبات، منها نقص المادة العلمية، والظاهران هذه الصعوبة تزداد إذا تعلق الموضوع بالجوانب الاقتصادية والاجتماعية، فالمتوفر لا يعدو أن يكون بعض المقتطفات الموجودة في المصادر التي تعود إلى تلك الحقبة التاريخية، ويرجع ذلك إلى الوضع الذي أصبحت تعيشه المدينة ونواحيها ، حيث فقدت كل أدوارها التي كانت تمارسها خلال مراحل سابقة،وخاصة خلال العهد الزياني، وقد يكون لموقعها الجغرافي أثر في هذا التقهقر، فهي تقع على الحدود مع المغرب الأقصى الذي كان في صراع دائم مع أسياد الجزائر الجدد، أي الأتراك العثمانيون .
